New Research: Growing Interest in UK Ferries Among Dutch Travelers in 2024

A recent study by Ferrygogo reveals key insights into the awareness and booking preferences of ferry routes between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The research, conducted among 572 Dutch consumers, highlights trends in ferry travel, including pricing factors, route awareness, and booking behavior.

Key Findings from the Study

Rising Interest in UK Ferries – The research shows growing demand for ferry travel among Dutch travelers. Almost 30% of respondents plan to book a ferry trip to England this year.

Price is the #1 Factor38% of travelers consider ticket price the most decisive factor when booking, followed by port accessibility (14.7%).

First-Time Ferry Travelers – While 39.9% have never taken a ferry to the UK, a significant percentage plan to do so in 2024.

Most Recognized Ferry Routes – The most well-known route is Hook of Holland to Harwich (66.4%), while the Rotterdam-Hull route has lower awareness at 40.5%.

Smooth Sailing for Most Travelers – A massive 95.8% of respondents reported no issues with ferry bookings or crossings. The few problems mentioned were minor, such as forgotten passports.
