Now over 260 ferry operators bookable via the B2B API

Direct Ferries, the world’s largest ferry ticket booking platform, has announced a major update to their B2B API. The API enables partners to seamlessly build and maintain the possibility to sell Direct Ferries‘ ferry ticket inventory through a direct connection to DirectFerries.com. Multiple travel agents, OTA’s and travel tech companies are taking advantage of this technology.

Since the B2B API’s launch in 2020, only ferry operators connected to Direct Ferries via API were available. However, starting today, it’s possible to place bookings via the API with ferry operators that do not have direct API connection, a feature known as “Virtual Inventory”. Virtual Inventory bookings are not always as instant as a direct API connection to a ferry operator .

Direct Ferries’ complete ferry inventory, covering 4,000 ferry routes and 260+ ferry operators, is now bookable via the API.

It is worth noting that adding the virtual inventory is optional for B2B partners using the API as this involves a different booking flow compared to API-connected ferry operators.
